To use Docling, simply install docling
from your package manager, e.g. pip:
pip install docling
Works on macOS, Linux and Windows environments. Both x86_64 and arm64 architectures.
More detailed installation instructions are available in the docs.
To convert individual documents, use convert()
, for example:
from docling.document_converter import DocumentConverter
source = "https://arxiv.org/pdf/2408.09869" # document per local path or URL
converter = DocumentConverter()
result = converter.convert(source)
print(result.document.export_to_markdown()) # output: "## Docling Technical Report[...]"
